Animal Magic! This is the only way to describe the fun and frolics of both the animals and participants on our animal therapy programmes.
Lords House Farm has lots of friendly animals on site, many of which are rare breeds or unusual looking and nearly all are suitable to be handled. The list is quite comprehensive and includes llamas, reindeer, marmoset monkeys, snakes and parrots amongst it’s residents.
A number of these animals can be ‘adopted’ to further support the work of Lords House Farm. Animal assisted therapy is as effective as our equine assisted therapy for it’s therapeutic benefits – particularly with autistic children who find it difficult to communicate or express themselves in life situations.
Animals do not judge and don’t recognise skin colour, creed or the wearing of designer gear – a kind word and gentle handling are enough to develop a lasting, understanding bond.
Animal Therapy takes place either by arrangement on weekdays or one evening a week on a pre-booked basis.
Regular participants can work towards an individual plan that has in-house certification.
